Scanning QR
This guide explains what happens when a guest scans a Space QR code and how to ensure a smooth guest experience.
Guest scanning flow
- Guest scans QR using phone camera or a QR app.
- The QR opens the Spot’s Dining page for the specific Space (menu + Space actions).
- Guest browses the menu, adds items, and places an order or requests service.
- The order is routed to the Orders Dashboard with the Space identifier.
Orders placed through a Space QR are linked to that Space for staff routing and reporting.
Troubleshooting common scan issues
- QR not scanning: check print quality, size, and contrast.
- Opens wrong Spot/Space: confirm the QR matches the correct Space in the Spot settings. Avoid deleting & recreating Spaces without updating QR codes.
Staff-assisted scanning
If a guest cannot scan or needs help, staff can open the Space URL on their device and start the ordering flow on behalf of the guest. This is useful for accessibility or older devices.
