Menu Actions & Waitress Requests
Depending on your subscription tier, you can create one or more Menu Actions.
Menu Actions are special shortcuts that allow guests to instantly request a specific service from your staff — for example:
- 🧹 Call service for table cleanup
- 💳 Request cash payment
- 🍽️ Call waitress for table service
These actions appear directly in your digital menu, allowing guests to call staff with a single tap.
💡 Tip: If your plan allows only a few actions, consider creating one generic action such as “Call Table Service” to stay within your tier limits.
Creating Menu Actions
To create new menu actions:
- Navigate to your Spot Menu.
- Locate the Order Actions page and click Create New Action.
- Fill out the form with the action name, description, and icon.
You can select from a variety of predefined icons to make each service more visually distinctive and intuitive for guests.
Published & Disabled Menu Actions
You can manage the visibility of each menu action directly from the Menu Actions list.
- Published actions are visible to guests in your digital menu.
- Disabled actions are hidden temporarily or permanently from the menu.
This makes it easy to control which services are available during different operating hours or seasons.
Viewing Requests in the Orders Dashboard
All active requests and orders — including waitress calls — appear in the Orders Dashboard, a live screen that updates in real time.
Within this dashboard, you’ll find a Pending Orders card displaying all new and ongoing service requests alongside customer orders.
Each new waitress request appears instantly in the dashboard for staff to review and complete.
Completing a Waitress Request
Waitress requests are simple action items, not editable entities.
To mark a request as completed, either:
- Click the Completed button, or
- Click once on the action item from the dashboard.
Once completed, the request disappears from the Orders Dashboard, keeping your workspace clean and focused.
When a request is marked completed, it’s automatically cleared from the live view, ensuring efficient service tracking.
